How much can I really earn?
You'll receive a $60 enrollment bonus after your first successful event participation, plus $25 annually for ongoing participation. First year total: $85. Subsequent years: $25/year. Some utilities offer additional event-based incentives.
Will I notice the temperature changes?
Most participants don't notice. Adjustments are typically 2-4°F and often happen gradually. We may pre-cool your home before events. If you do notice, you can always override the adjustment or opt out of future events.
Can I opt out of events?
Yes! You can opt out of any upcoming event via your dashboard, or override the adjustment directly on your thermostat during an event. There are no penalties for opting out. You can also unenroll from the program at any time.
Is this safe and secure?
Absolutely. This is an official utility program. We use industry-standard OAuth authentication and only access the minimum permissions needed to adjust temperature during events. We never access your personal data, location, or camera feeds. All connections are encrypted.
What if I rent my home?
You can participate as long as you control your own thermostat and pay your own electricity bill. The person whose name is on the utility account receives the rewards. Check with your landlord if you're unsure about your thermostat setup.
How do I receive my rewards?
Rewards are typically issued as bill credits applied directly to your utility account, or as prepaid Visa cards, depending on your utility. The enrollment bonus is paid after your first event participation. Annual rewards are paid at the end of each program year.
